Scope

The role of Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations is a senior leadership position within the Company’s Information Technology Services team. This role requires an experienced operator who will be dedicated to providing a superior level of IT services and will generate business potential throughout the organization. Reporting to the CIO, this position will need a hands-on, collaborative leader, who will use their grounding in infrastructure and application management within day-to-day IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • In charge of overseeing day-to-day operation and management of all enterprise and infrastructure systems. Supervise and assist the team to ensure the business requirements such as availability and functionality are met.
  • Collaborate with business users and the IT Program Management team on new applications and project upgrades. Supply software solutions and incite change management throughout the company.
  • Accountable for meeting short and long-term business needs and understand infrastructure planning and deployment making certain of reliability, security, and flexibility.
  • Create and develop innovative strategies for improving current and existing systems. When necessary, re-engineer procedures to ensure alignment with the business processes.
  • Oversee the planning and delivering of suitable business continuity and disaster recovery objectives.
  • Ensure that day-to-day operations are provided with consistency, repeatability, and efficiency within the company’s standard operating procedures as well as maintenance of internal documentation.
  • Strategize and implement the organization’s information and cybersecurity policies to avoid and prepare against risks and threats.
  • Work with the ITS management team to create, plan, budget, and develop IT strategies.
  • Remain updated on emerging infrastructure and operations technologies by providing insight on what technologies should be incorporated into the infrastructure landscape.
  • Observe and partner with strategic IT vendors and suppliers to provide variations of relationship management.
  • Establish and develop a team of IT professionals and ensure team skills align with performance requirements.
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members to ensure effective communication, continuous learning, teamwork, and skills development.
  • Create a culture that is proactive, service-oriented, and raises the confidence level of the user community.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team member with a passion for “getting it right”. They will have a high level of drive and creativity to constantly improve their area of responsibility.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant discipline
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience within IT infrastructure/operations management
  • A strategic and critical thinker who is up to date with the recent trends in technology and can translate them into opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, and an ability to concisely explain technology solutions and business challenges in presentation format.
